Making The Video For One Of A Kind
It's off to the "City Of Angels," Los Angeles again this time to make the
'One Of A Kind' video that's sure to be a monster!
Well...that sure sounded corny... but oh well, if I'm ever to be a Tuskin
Raider that's what I must do. We arrived at the Hotel Saturday night and
had Sunday off all day. Some of us shopped, did some tourist attractions,
and went out to eat. Me, Jody, and our wives went to Wolfgang Puck's, one
of the many great places to eat in L.A. Not much else happening on a Sunday
night. Tuesday was our first day of shooting. The location was a huge abandoned
parking garage that was pretty run down - just enough to have a dirty feel
to it.
As you'll see in the video, they brought in beautiful old muscle cars! Most
had custom everything and were all tricked out and amped up. Jody is the
one that knew every detail about the cars...and he was in heaven. When things
started, the set up was us, as we normally are at shows, with a massive
wall of cabinets behind us, muscle cars around us, and about 150 screaming
and moshing kids all around. It was incredible! The energy and intensity
was so high. We all were out of breath at the end of every take and Justin
had a bloody hand after the first couple of takes from pounding on his guitar
so hard. Yes, it was that intense!
As the night rolled on and after the rest of us went back and crashed. Brett
stayed on to shoot some of the racing scenes in the car. He was finished
at 3:00 am and the rest of the crew didn't get things rapped up until 5:30
am! Those guys earned their money. Then the second day and night of shooting
was upon us. Right after we got there we went to Rob's (RVD) trailer to
say hello. He was very excited and happy to be a part of the video. A lot
of the same extras were there as well, mostly the girls. This was to be
the part where we are all sitting in some little run down bar / club and
Van Dam comes in and challenges Brett to a race, kind of like they old rivals.
Between takes and during break periods we did a new photo shoot, an interview
with TV Guide Channel, and an interview with the 'behind the scenes' crew
from the WWF. They had their cameras rolling almost the whole time for a
little feature to be on one of the WWF shows sometime soon. The whole making
the video experience was awesome and went smoothly. Thanks to Rob Van Dam,
Glen Bennett, Fanny, and Bridget H. @ Wind-up for making this happen and
all the hard work that went into putting it together. We love you guys!!!
As for everyone out there...we'll be seeing you real soon. Peace out and
God bless!!! - Greg

WWF RAW!
This was entertainment at its best for the whole family! Monday, February
11th we took off for Jonesboro, AR to see and meet the WWF. I felt a little
out of place because it seemed that we were the only ones there with black
leather jackets on. Also the pyro explosions were bigger and louder than
any indoor or outdoor concert I've ever been to. Our producer, Matt Martone,
went with us and was yelling out to the wrestlers... "Don't let 'em do that
to ya P-nut!" is what he yelled at this little guy who was getting his ass
kicked.
We were having a blast. Just when we thought it wouldn't get any better,
we saw the camera man head in our direction. We were told that they were
going to try and get a shot of us in the crowd when Rob Van Dam came out
but we had no idea that they were going to put the camera right over on
us and flash our name across the screen. They had to move bunch of people
out of the way to get the shot. Jerry 'the King' Lawler even talked about
us!
After the show we were taken back stage to meet RVD. We were back there
for thirty minutes or so talking and meeting the wrestlers. I met Ric
Flair who I've been seeing on TV for years and got him to sign one of
our posters. It was great getting to see and meet all of those guys who
I've seen on TV, talk shows, and magazines all these years. I am becoming
a true fan now! I also have a tremendous respect for those guys because
what they do is not at all easy and is very dangerous. People always say
it's fake but to be able to pick up someone who weighs 300 plus pounds
over your head is not fake.
We'd like to say a huge thank you for the t-shirts, great seats, and
most of all the superior hospitality from Steve Rubins and over all the
WWF. We had a fun time and hope to see you guys again soon!
RVD!!!

At Home
It's Christmas time and it's great to be home with the
ones we love. Hope everyone has a safe and happy holidays. This new year
is going to be a big one for Breakingpoint, our Street Teamers, and everyone
else as well. Really big things on the horizon!!! --GREG

| December 17 2001 |
Little Rock, AR
This was our second time to play in Little Rock. We
hooked back up with our buds in Seven Channels to play this show. The venue
was pretty small but it was packed. Next to the venue was a Mexican restaurant
which was pretty good. It felt like driving through the Florida Everglades
going over there because of all the flooding. It was bad! It was great to
be out playing again after being off the road for quite a while now. We'll
see ya soon. --GREG

| December 14 2001 |
Memphis,TN
It was good to be back at home playing in the New Daisy
Theater on crime- free Beale Street. We were added to this show at the last
minute so things were kind of crazy. Everyone thought that we would be out
on the road, so did we! The local station in Memphis does this annually
and they call it their Electric Christmas. We were last to play so we did
our 45 minute set. I guess we were going to go back out and do an encore
but the last song Brett pulled his whole guitar speaker stack down which
went crashing to the stage. It felt and sounded like an earthquake! It
was great seeing lots of familiar faces again. We want to thank all the
local bands that played that night...Pith, Bullet Theory, Piston Honda,
the Inernationals, and Bean Pole. All great bands!

Davis, CA
Happy Halloween! We are at the University OF California.
What a beautiful campus! Hundreds of bicycles everywhere too. We were all
wondering if the guys in Fuel or Saliva were going to do anything for Halloween.
We decided to put on a little makeup but at the end just before stage time
it was only me and Brett that would do the makeup thing. Saliva didn't do
anything as far as Halloween goes. Fuel on the other hand came out with
just white masks on except Carl who had three foot stilts on with a huge
black cloak on with a hood. He kept his costume on for the first three songs.
He seemed to be an old pro at walking on those things. Some very cool people
at our first show in Cali. --GREG

Phoenix, AZ
This kind of sucks because it's the last show of this tour. It was kind
of a bittersweet thing. We
were all pretty burnt and ready to see our families but at the same time
we felt like we were just getting started!
Being the last show on the tour there had to be practical joking but we
had no idea it was going to be all Breaking Point doing the jokes. As Saliva
played into the middle of their set I put on a hooded outfit and made myself
up as "Mr.Peepers"(Saturday Night Live). I ran out and put my
arms around Joey's shoulders while eating an apple and spitting everywhere.
I think I scared him because he almost hit me so I ran as fast as I could
off stage. It turns out they were all laughing so hard they could barely
play. That was just the beginning.
When Fuel started to play Shimmer I came in as Mr.Peepers again on one side
and Jody came in on the other as a fairy, wearing only his underwear, tennis
shoes, and a little Barbie costume with pink glitter, a hat and a magic
wand. Josey and Brett also came out (no funny costumes) jumping around and
playing volleyball with condoms full of air. This was the funniest thing
I've
seen in years!
We're going to miss the guys in Fuel and Saliva. All of us want to say thank
you to all the fans and great people we met and partied with on this tour.
There's so much more to come! We love all you crazy people out there and
we'll see you again starting in February!!! Look for Brother on the radio
Feb.5th! --Greg

San Diego, CA
This was my second time in San Diego, only this time no visit to the coast
or anywhere else. This time it was foggy and kind of chilly, to give a quick
weather report. The room we played was pretty different. The stage was backed
up into a corner of the room which was interesting to say the least. This
wasn't a bad thing just different for everyone. Hope to return to Cali soon.
Had a blast in all the places we played!!! West coast kicks much ass!! --Greg
|
| November 7 2001 |
Anaheim,CA
Right in the middle of Disneyland was the House Of Blues, much like the
one in L.A. All of us
did some shopping in the Disney stores that afternoon and hung out in and
around Disney's park. This show seemed to go much quicker than the L.A.
shows I guess because we weren't in L.A. and everyone had to hit the road
just after the show here. Great show, great
people, lots of fun. --Greg
|
| November 4 2001 |
West Hollywood/L.A.,CA
This night we had some guests worthy of mentioning. Collective
Soul, Vince Neal(Motley Crue), Billy Bob Thorton, and Yogi(guitarist from
Buckcherry) were all there. Yogi even got up and jammed on a Zeppelin tune
with Fuel.
One of the cool things we did while in L.A. was going
in the studio so I could to record the rap on Brother for the radio. I
had a blast! We wanted to do our radio version of Brother, so now when
you hear Brother on the radio, starting Feb.5th, you'll hear Greg instead
of Josey rapping ! It's still Josey on the full length CD though...it's
a long story we'll tell about some other time. One other funny thing was
running into Weird Al Yankovic at a Mexican restaurant...just eat it!
--GREG

| November 3 2001 |
West Hollywood/L.A.,CA
We were in L.A. and it was party time! We had to adapt
to a few technical things playing the House Of Blues, but it all turned out
fine. Our dressing room was this old bus behind the HoB that was very cool.
They had converted this bus into a permanent dressing room, all decked out
with crushed, red velvet, tassels, hand-painted and carved wood and shag
carpet. The rest of the first night is a blur because went ran around from
one place to another. Some of us went Saliva's party and others hung out
at Fuel's party just down the street. --GREG
|
| November 1 2001 |
San Jose, CA
I guess this was the biggest room we have ever played.
There was plenty of room for everything. This was an "arena show". The only
thing was is this was only an hour or so from Davis where we just played
so this show wasn't totally packed like Davis. I even talked to several
people who were at the show the night before. Oh well, it was a great show
anyway. The drive was that much shorter for us! --GREG

Cedar City, Utah, The Centrum
Utah Rocks!!!! This town is very tiny and in the middle of nowhere!! It's
very beautiful out here though. We played at Southern Utah University. What
a freakin' show!!! It was a coliseum-type show with a few thousand kids.
There were signs everywhere saying 'no moshing or you'll be arrested'. That's
exactly what happened. More power to the kids for having some fun!!!! It's
too bad authorities have to be so over protective. But it didn't stop this
show by any means. We met so many cool fans and made lots of new friends.
We did a couple of radio interviews and signed autographs for forever. After
the show, we went to a gas station and got mobbed by about 50 fans!!! They
were out of control!!! Thanks so much to everyone for making this a very
memorable show!!!

| October 27 2001 |
Salt Lake City, Utah, Salt Air Pavilion
It's great to be out here in beautiful Utah, with the mountains, blue skies
and great people. The only thing that sucks is the alcohol level in the
beer!!!! Jody and Greg both had their wives fly out, so they were loving
that. Greg's little girl came as well and got to see him play for the first
time. It's pretty crazy being this high up in the mountains. You run out
of breath twice as fast as you normally would, so we've had to pace ourselves.
We played at a place called the Salt Air Pavilion right on Salt Lake in
the middle of nowhere. So tonight was my birthday (Justin) and I have to
say the coolest thing was in the middle of the set there were some people
screaming Happy Birthday!!! There couldn't have been a better feeling being
this far away from home and having some new friends all the way out here.
Thanks so much to you guys!!! After the show, we went over to Saliva's hotel
for a party. As soon as we walked in, I was greeted by about 50 or 60 people
singing Happy Birthday!!! They had a big sign made as well!!! The guys from
Fuel stopped by as well. We had a great time. I can't thank all of you enough
for making this one of my most treasured birthdays and a hell of a show!!!!

| October 26 2001 |
Denver, Colorado, The Fillmore
LONG DRIVE ALL NIGHT LONG!!! That's all I have to say about that!!! We left
right after the show and cruised through the mountains all night long. It
was great to see the sunrise up over the mountains though. We played a place
called the Fillmore Auditorium that was awesome. Very beautiful ballroom
type venue with a lot of history.. It had beautiful crystal chandeliers
hanging everywhere. There were a few thousand people here going off. Great
show and great people. Thanks to Jen and Bill for the baked goods. We got
to hang out with lots of cool people afterwards!!! One time in band camp
|
| October 25 2001 |
Omaha, Nebraska, Ranch Bowl
So we were supposed to be in Lincoln tonight, but the show was cancelled
and we went to play a show with Saliva in Omaha instead. This was a pretty
weird show, considering we played at 5:30 in the afternoon!!! There were
two shows tonight and we were the first one. The show after us was a death
metal show with Six Feet Under. Their singer used to sing for Cannibal Corpse,
who was a personal favorite of mine!!!! So the crowd was a very heavy listening
audience, but we hung in and made some new fans. We left here at 7:00 for
a long drive to Denver.
|
| October 24 2001 |
Dubuque, Iowa, Five Flags Center
Didn't know what to expect coming into Iowa, but we'll come back here anytime!!!
This show was one of the best on the tour. The fans were going nuts here!!
We played at a hockey arena that a local college sponsored. I just couldn't
stop smiling while onstage here. Don't know why, but it was just one of
those fun shows!!! Met some great people afterwards, but had to leave for
a long drive. Iowa, you guys rock!!! We plan on coming back here real soon!!
|
| October 21 2001 |
Syracuse, Landmark Theater
This show has to be the most beautiful place we've ever played. We played
at the Landmark Theatre, which was absolutely gorgeous!!! Very old building
with red velvet everywhere and very intense detailed structural work. This
show was sold out and very intense!!! There was a great balcony that probably
held 1,000 and the floor probably a couple thousand. The coolest part of
the night was when one of my all time favorite rock influences passed me
in the hallway!! Joey, the lead singer of Anthrax was in the house!!! What
a cool dude!! He said how much he enjoyed our show and we talked for quite
a long time. I remember having posters of him on my wall when I was in the
6th grade!! Fuel put on an awesome show as always!! Thanks to everyone who
helped out!!! We have a few days off till our next show. Tomorrow we're
going to Niagara Falls!!!
|
| October 20 2001 |
North Andover, MA
Driving up here was an absolute pleasure!!! It's so beautiful this time
of year up here. The trees are amazing and it feels great!! We played right
outside of Boston at Merrimack College. These college shows are great. All
of the students take such good care of you. We got to play our full set
tonight, since Saliva took off to Georgia to play a radio show. The crowd
was another great one. Thousands of kids there to rock!!!! It was a pleasure
to meet everyone after the show. We had to get on the road and drive all
night to get to Syracuse.
|
| October 18 2001 |
Mansfield, PA, The GYM
Another long-ass drive to hook up with our boys in Fuel and Saliva!! This
was our first show on this tour. We played at Mansfield University in the
gymnasium. There were thousands of people here and everyone was going nuts.
The response we received from this crowd was enormous. After the show we
must have signed autographs for hours!!! This show was definitely a sign
of what's to come. We partied with lots of new friends afterwards and had
a great time!!! This tour is going to be awesome. All of the bands on this
tour are from West Tennessee and are friends!!! Lots of thanks to everyone
at Mansfield University for taking excellent care of us!!! On to North Andover,
MA!!!
|
| October 16 2001 |
Raleigh , NC, The Brewery
What a hell of a long drive!!!!! Ahhh, what the hell am I complaining about!!!
We couldn't wait to get to Raleigh to see all of our friends that we had
made last time we were here. As soon as we got in, we went and did an acoustic
jam on the radio at 96 Rock. We played "Coming of Age" and "27."
We had a great interview with our buddy Andy and hung out and had dinner
with T.J. our regional Wind Up rep. The place was sold out I believe. Raleigh
rocks!!!! It was great to see all the people singing along with our songs,
especially " Coming of Age." We deeply appreciate the support
that this town has given us. Hey Robin, you're the best!!! You guys ROCK!!!!!
We would like to send our sincere thanks to Days of the New for having us
on this short tour. We love you guys and your music. Travis, you're a crazy
ass, but that's what we love!!!! And to Pete, you guys are incredible and
will definitely go far. We listen to your CD all the time. Thanks to both
of you and God bless.
|
| October 14 2001 |
Beaumont, TX, The Palladium
We woke up and drove about 2 hours to a place called Beaumont , TX. This
club was awesome!!! Very classy dance club actually!!! We got to watch some
football and rocked the place shortly after. The fans here were awesome,
but unfortunately we had to leave right after the show to get on to Raleigh,
N. Carolina.
|
| October 12 2001 |
Oklahoma City, Diamond Ballroom
We had a short drive to Oklahoma City and played a real cool place. Lots
of character in this building. Pictures of old western stars and what not.
The crowd was great here and we got to hang out with some cool street teamers.
Thanks to Oklahoma fans for a couple days of fun!!!
|
| October 11 2001 |
Lawton, OK
This was an interesting place to play. First we all had the best bar-b-q
that's ever been cooked
in a five mile radius of the club. Before
the night of the show we went to a near by mall to do a little shopping
and what not. As soon as we stepped outside we heard these explosions coming
from what seemed to be just over some trees but were actually several miles
away. We found out later that the booms were tanks at the practice range
at Fort Sill. Also we thought the prairie dogs were going to take us all
and eat us for lunch. These things were in the thousands as we looked out
across open, flat areas. Jody took off running after some and almost got
his arm bitten off. He ended up dancing across the grassy plains ever so
gracefully instead. Jody's new name is "Dances With Prairie Dogs".
It will soon be in theaters everywhere as a very short documentary. We also
got pulled over and searched by the military police, but they were just
doing their job!!!This show rocked , thanks to everyone that helped in making
it so.
|
| October 10 2001 |
Houston , TX, Pete's Place
So we had a long drive all night that ended up in Austin, TX at probably
5 or 6 in the morning. We had to stop here to take care of some things and
then we were on to Houston. We played a place called Pete's Place that totally
rocked. There were 3 outside stages going on. It was pretty much a mini
festival with a lot of local bands - then Days of the New, Pete and us performed
out back on the main stage. There were lots of people there and we made
lots of new fans. The people at the radio station KLOL took really good
care of us. A big thanks to you guys. All three of our sets rocked and we
had a big party afterwards in the bar inside. It was great to make a lot
of new friends!!! On to Beaumont!!!
|
| October 9 2001 |
Toledo, Ohio
Holy conquas-adipplerdian! That was the first of the long drives to come.
This was the first show with Pete and Days Of the New. It was great to get
back out and also to be with some new bands. New bands usually mean new
friends and this was no exception. The guys in Pete are all cool as they
come and so were the guys in Days Of the New. Travis (Days lead vocalist)
is extremely dramatic and one hell of a performer. We met a bunch of nice
people and hung out for a while. We met this one guy who got us to sign
his guitar that had all these autographs on it from hundreds of people.
That was an honor to be asked to sign that because I'm sure that some big
time stars had signed it. Had a great time, was worth the drive and hope
see you all you people again soon.
|
| October 5 2001 |
Orlando
We're starting to feel right at home here at the Sapphire Supper Club here
in Orlando. This was the 3rd time we've played here in the last two months!!!
The crowd was great. We played with two local bands called Four Years Past
and The Walter Travis Band. Both these bands rocked and we appreciate them
having us at their party. We had lots of friends here at the show. Scott
Phillips from Creed was in the house, as well as John from Sevendust. Orlando
rocks at night!! The streets were filled with thousands of people getting
crazy!! It was great hanging out with some Street Teamers here in Orlando
and in Gainseville. We love you guys and appreciate everything you do. We're
heading back home for a night and then starting a couple of weeks with Days
of the New. Talk to ya soon!!!!
|
| October 4 2001 |
Gainseville, Fl.
Once again a rockin' show in Florida with Sevendust and Saliva!!! We could
really get used to this!! Unfortunately, this was our last show with these
boys. We had a very hectic day, so we didn't even arrive at the club until
7 o'clock and we were scheduled to go on at 8. Luckily everyone was running
behind , so we were alright!!! MTV 2 was in the house filming, so things
were crazy. The craziest things of all were the kids that came out to rock!!!
Great crowd!!! We had some massive pits going and kids yelling and screaming!!!
This show completely rocked!! A big thanks to Rock 104 for taking such good
care of us as they always do. Brian, you're the man!! We hung out with lots
of new fans and drove on into Orlando that night.
|
| October 3 2001 |
Pensacola, Fl.
What could be worse than having a 6 ft. 3, long hair, tattooed rock star
walk in your dressing room buck naked? NOTHING!!!!!! We love seeing our
buddy Josie from Saliva , but not quite what we had in mind!!! So , here
we are in Pensacola , Fl., right on the water at Bayfront Auditorium. Our
day started out with a radio meet and greet bbq which was awesome. Some
random people had called in to the station and payed $101.00 dollars a piece
to come and meet all the bands and have some beer and bbq. All the proceeds
went to a disaster relief fund for the victims of our recent tragedy. Big
thanks to TK 101 for taking such good care of us!!! The show was out of
control!! We had a massive pit going up front. It was great to make a lot
of new fans and hang for a while. We had a huge surprise when Brad from
3 Doors Down walked into our dressing room. (fully clothed I might add!!!!)
It was great to see him as usual. Saliva kicked some serious ass last night
, as well as Sevendust (of course.) On to Gainseville!!

CD release party @ Newby's
in Memphis, TN
It was so awesome to finally get back in front of our home crowd again!
So many people that we haven't seen in years were there along with people
who have been there with us every step of the way. We also have to mention
all the new faces that came out to see us for the first time. This was a
great way to start off the tour. We also had our families come in for the
show. Brett's mother came all the way from Oregon, Greg's dad from Atlanta,
and the rest of everyone's immediate family with cousins here and there
from closer by. Big thanks go out to GTO and Beanpole for playing with us
and putting on an awesome show!!! We can't say enough about our hometown
radio station 93X!!! YOU GUYS ROCK!!!! From our first CD release last year,
to the one this year you guys have been launching our careers and we really
thank you for it. We had a great set this night. We played quite a few old
songs we haven't played in a while, as well as some new ones. The party
afterwards rocked as usual!!
|
| September 24 2001 |
Cat's In-Store Performance
We played an acoustic set inside of the Cat's music store in Memphis to
celebrate the release of our first national debut record!!! This was great!!!
Lot's of people showed up and got a copy before you could actually buy it
the next day. We love playing these acoustic sets. It really gives the band
and the fans a whole new meaning of our songs. It's really cool altering
the songs a little bit!!! Thanks to everyone at Cat's for having us and
working so late. We gave away a guitar and a bunch of CD's and shirts, and
then we did an autograph session afterwards. Thanks to everyone for coming
out and being a part this!!!

| September 18 2001 |
Fuel / Breaking Point at Univ. of Tenn.
@ Martin
Well we got to play our second show with our boys in Fuel and it rocked!!
The show took place at The University of Tennessee at Martin. We drove in
and went straight to the radio station there in town, 105.7 "The Quake."
We did an on air interview for quite a while, then we played "Coming
of Age" acoustic. A big thanks to everyone at the station for being
so cool to us and playing our song!!
The show was at the Elam Center, which was freakin' huge!!! Our drummer
Jody is from this little town and saw his first concert here. The guys in
Fuel are also from here, so there were lots of friends and families hanging
around. We played some basketball , ate like kings and prepared for the
show. There must have been close to 4,000 people there!! We played a 30
minute set and had a great time. It was great to meet all the new fans we
hung out with at the show and at the bar afterwards. A big thanks goes out
to Jim Green from Beaver Productions for doing such a great job. Another
huge thanks to Fuel for having us on the bill and inviting us on their new
tour with Saliva and us. Look out here comes a bunch of Tennessee boys!!!
Could mean lots of trouble!!

Breaking Point Video shoot - Los Angeles
We flew straight from New York to Los Angeles. Waking up and seeing the
Empire State Building and then seeing the Hollywood sign a few hours later
was absolutely crazy!!!! This whole experience was very surreal. WE'RE MAKING
OUR FIRST ROCK VIDEO!
We stayed right in Beverly Hills, which was close to everything. The first
night we went to dinner with the producer and director, who were very cool
guys. A guy named Bobby G is our director. The next day we walked up and
down Melrose all day just looking around. That night we went to the legendary
Rainbow Bar & Grill. So we're hangin out drinking some beers and shooting
our jaeger when we look over and there's Vince Neil looking at us!!! Pretty
cool to see the man!!! Lemmy from Motorhead was also hangin' out and the
guys from Cypress Hill as well. We got the sights in then we made ourselves
go to bed cuz we had to get up early to start the video.
We arrived the next morning bright and early for the shoot. The filming
took place at two huge abandoned mansions in downtown L.A. There was an
enormous crew and production trucks everywhere. We met a lot of really cool
people on the shoot. Hillary, you rock!!! A big thanks to April and Suzanne
for making us look halfway decent!!! The story line is about a woman coming
of age. We got an actress named Jaqui Maxwell who is a beautiful australian
about to blow up. She's been in a few tv shows, with her newest being a
show called 24 Hours with Keifer Sutherland. She was incredible and perfect
for our storyline. We started shooting our individual shots in a garden-like
area. The colors were absolutely incredible. These shots should look really
great!!! We did quite a bit of shooting all together as well. This whole
experience of being in front of a bunch of cameras was new to all of us.
VERY STRANGE!!! A lot of the video took place in two rooms of one of the
houses. The colors were very dreamy, almost fairytale looking. We did a
lot of playing inside and filmed the scenes with Jaqui in one of the rooms.
It's really hard to describe the sequence of events in the video. It's just
one of those "you have to see it" kind of things!!!
We filmed for about 12 hours and finished up. I have to say this whole experience
was a dream come true. We can't wait for everyone to see it, I can't wait
to see it myself!!!! A big thanks goes out to Bobby G and the whole crew
for a job well done. A huge thanks to Bridgette from Wind Up for putting
up with us and playing such a key role in all areas of our career.
Justin
Check out photos
from the shoot!

First of all, we were the first band to
play at this venue. The building was University of Memphis' brand new theater
and performance hall and it is a top notched venue. We thought the place
rocked. Secondly, it was fantastic playing with Fuel, who we hit it off
with right away. It was cool to walk in and feel like we've known them forever.
Also, Jody and Fuel's Carl Bell were roommates during college and that was
another reason why things felt good. This really added to playing a great
show. We hit the stage at 8pm and right off the crowd was going crazy. The
crowd's energy really made us play our hearts out and during the whole show
the Fuel guys looked on from the side of the stage. Then they came and did
the same. After the show, the guys from Fuel came to our dressing room with
a cake and we all sang happy birthday to Jody. The strange thing was that
it was Kevin's (Fuel's drummer) birthday also. So we all celebrated both
drummers' birth dates that night and really had a great time and a really
great show. Thanks for all the support from Fuel, the venue, Jim Greene,
and especially a big thanks to the new fans that we made. This was a closed
show to college students only, so we got to play in front of a whole new
crowd and they really rocked. We got to spend some time with our news fans
after our show. Thanks for all the brand new support.

Sunday night: After a long drive from Memphis
to NYC, we got to our hotel and met up with our buddies from Seven Channels.
It was greating seeing all those guys again and we grabbed some dinner with
them and their crew. The next day (Monday), was show day. All of us were
a little on edge about this show, mainly because all of Wind-Up Records
was going to be there. But the show went great and the Mercury Lounge was
packed. The venue was small, about 250 capacity, the bar itself was in the
front and you had to work your way through all the people to get to where
the stage was located. It was very intimate. We had a lot of great support
from our label, management and Seven Channels. We hope we can get back to
NYC soon and play again. After hanging out to see Seven Channels play their
set, we all jumped into limos and headed over to the Wind-Up Records owner's
penthouse for an after-show party. That's when the serious fun started.
Greg, Jody, Drowning Pool and some of the Wind-Ups spent most of the night
singing old Bon Jovi songs, Sevendust songs, and yes even stuff from "Huey
Lewis and the News". Dave (Drowning Pool's singer) was in charge of the
music selection for the night and did a great job picking the hits. We really
love those guys! And to everyone there, thanks for hanging out so late on
a school night. The next day we went to a little place call the Luca Lounge
in lower Manhattan. This is where we shot the video interviews for the website,
which will be up soon. We covered just abouut everything you would want
to know about Breaking Point. Later!

So we're driving into Raleigh on Friday
night and we pull up the badass station 96 ROCK on our radio. What do we
hear? BREAKING POINT!!!!! This had to be one of the most exciting moments
for us. Finally we hear our song while out of state. This station rocks!!!
We got some sleep (well some of us) and got up ready to go rock. We were
playing the Rock n Reggae Fest here in Raleigh. One slight problem. We're
playing outside in the middle of downtown, but it's storming!!! Did this
stop us? HELL NO!!!! We got to the gig as they were setting up the stage
and met the fine people from the radio station. Big thanks to Robin and
Andy, Chopper, Danger Boy and the rest of the staff at 96 ROCK for taking
such good care of us the whole day. So the attendance wasn't quite what
it would have been, but there were still about 500 people hanging in the
rain. We got to play and it was awesome. There's no better feeling than
being out of state and seeing a crowd of people singing your song!!!! 96
ROCK deserves big props, as they were the first station in the country (outside
of our hometown) to add our single "Coming of Age." You guys rock and we
are forever in debt!!! Can't wait to come back to hang with you guys and
all of our new fans. It was great to meet Alexis, one of our great street
teamers. This short run was a great success, thanks so much to everyone
for making it so. New York, here we come!!!!!!

| August 15 2001 |
The night before this show as we were making
our way there we see an RV driving up next us and as we look over we see
a couple of bare, white Asses against the windows. That was enough to make
us yack up dinner. It was Seven Channels! This show almost was a big family
reunion for a couple of us. Greg's dad and a couple of friends drove from
Atlanta, and his cousin's from Birmingham came to the show as well. Justin's
uncle, grandparents, cousin and girlfriend also came to the show. One thing
about that show that was so good, considering the 10:00 curfew and it being
on a school night, was that most of the people there were right up front
and really getting into the music. That's what we love is to see the faces
of all you "true" passionate music fans, ready to get crazy, and not scared
to come up front. This was our last show with Seven Channels for right now.
On the way out after the show as we pasted Seven Channels we gave those
guys a bit of eye candy, which we were sure by the expressions on their
faces didn't find very sweet. Thanks to the 5 Points Performance Hall for
the hospitality. Can't wait to come back!!!!

Yes, we were just here with Virgos a few
weeks ago and it was good to be back so soon. The Sapphire Supper Club is
one of the coolest places to play. The best thing about that night was to
see so many familiar faces. You people who drove from Gainesville all the
way to Orlando are awesome. That's true support and we love you guys! We
also had some friends drive over from Tampa and Ft. Lauderdale. It was good
to see Big Dismal again. Best of luck to those guys with everything. Thanks
to the Sapphire.

Good morning to all of you. So we arrived
to the beautiful city of Tampa, St. Petersburg, after a couple of days of
driving in our new and improved non-carbon monoxide-killing machine!!! Great
to be back in the sunshine state again!! The Tampa show was probably the
hottest show we have ever played but that didn't stop us. We played about
6:30 in the afternoon with the sun in our faces. This show ROCKED!!!!!!
You people mean business and that makes us even that much more excited to
put on our most intense shows. We played to about 1,000 people and probably
met half of them after the show!!! Tampa fans are awesome. We must have
signed autographs and gave away cd's for 2 hours. The rest of the night
is a blur. We partied for quite a while watching the other bands. So in
more exciting news we just got a jagermeister endorsement!!!! Hence the
blur!! We want to express much love and thanks to our boys in Sevendust,
it was great to see them in action again as always. Also thanks to Stereo
Mud, Soil, and Seven Channels. All of you at 98 ROCK were awesome. We got
to visit the station and go to the local beach there the next day. One more
big thank you to 98 Rock
what a badass station!!! All of you people on the
street team and website rock for coming to all of our shows. We saw you
all in the front row singing along!!!! Thank you guys and gals!!! See ya
soon!

We knew that after the other two shows
in Florida that Orlando was going to be incredible too. The Sapphire Super
Club has a great, itimate atmosphere. We had another scare that morning
and knew there was a problem with the RV for sure. Greg and Keith (our guitar
tech) woke up that morning and didn't know who they were. Their ears were
ringing and just pretty much too sick to stand up. Yes, it was carbon monoxide
poisoning
not too good, but a lot of rest and fresh air got them back
and the show went on as planned. Just about everyone from JHMP, our management
was there and we appreciate everyone so much for there work. It's always
great to come and hang with the guys you talk to on the phone everyday,
but never get to see!!!! It was also great to hang with our Wind-Up rep
Marney the last two nights! YOU ROCK!!!! Some fans had followed us down
from the shows in Tallahassee and Gainesville, so it was great to see some
more familiar faces. A big shout out and thanks to Scott Phillips (Creed)
for being so cool to us, we hope to see you again real soon. Thank you to
Virgos and Big Dismal! You guys are the incredible!!!
|
| July 27 2001 |
Tallahassee was a great gig, Virgos and
Big Dismal were also on the bill. In case you don't know, Big Dismal just
joined us at Wind-Up. These guys just signed to Wind-up and have a big future
ahead of them. On a more "sour" note
the three of us who
decided to sleep in the RV on the night of the 26th woke up feeling sick
with head aches the day of this show. Evidently we had a carbon monoxide
leak on our RV, but we didn't realize this until the next morning. We're
all lucky that we woke up, as this could have proven fatal. Thank goodness
by the time of the show everyone was feeling pretty normal. Oh well, we
still came out and put on a high-energy show. The crowd was great as there
were a few hundred people in the venue. Great big thanks to X 101.5 and
also to Floyd's
you guys were great!

| July 26 2001 |
Thursday night we pulled into Gainesville
for the first full-on show we've played since St. Louis. Needless to say,
the energy and anticipation was built up. It felt great to plug back in.
We just want to say thank you so much to all of you who came out. For those
of you that stopped by after the show, we love hearing feedback in person
from the people who see us. Getting to visit after the gigs is especially
rewarding, so thanks again. This was our first show with Virgos. We appreciate
all those guys have done for the band in allowing us to share the stage.
The show was simply awesome. The venue was packed and we met lots of cool
people. We did a radio interview that was a lot of fun. After the show we
had a whole lot of fans hanging with us at our RV. You guys rock!!! We want
to thank The Blow Hole and local rockers Longwood for a great show and being
so cool. Huge thanks to Brian with Rock 104 and a big shout out to Memphis
DJ Killabrew for having the people in Gainesville take such good care of
us!!!
|
| July 24 2001 |
Well here we are back on the road again.
HELL FREAKIN' YE!!!!!!! Definitely a great feeling, since it's been so long.
We're in a brand new RV with a new trailer, much better than the van/trailer
combo!! So we're heading to Florida to play some shows with Virgo's (formerly
Virgos Merlot) in Gainesville, Tallahassee and Orlando. We got a slow start
out of Memphis since we had to get some things done before we could cruise.
Our new song Coming of Age just got added in Memphis yesterday and
a couple other places we heard. So anyone reading this please call and request
the song!!!!! Plans to make a video are in the works!! We'll keep you posted,
as we get closer to Showtime!!

The Blue Monkey Acoustic show
We just wanted to tell you how awesome tonight was!!! The place was absolutely
packed!!! Pretty incredible for Memphis with no real promotions. We had
a blast and so did everyone there. These acoustic shows are really proving
to be great for us in many ways. When we did "27" the whole place was singing!!!!
It was awesome!! Lots of songs with lots of great responses from our crowd.
Definitely made us all feel great!!! Can't wait to kick Florida's ass now!!!!
We also had a great interview with WMFS, thanks for everything you guys
have done for us!!! Thanks to Memphis and our friends and fans.

St. Louis, Mo
Finally, we have an In Ear monitor system! It was awesome to finally hear
everything clear and clean (that is a first for us). We played at a club
called Mississippi Nights, located right along the Mississippi river next
to the Arch. It had a cool vibe to it and the club is located in pretty
happening district. We opened up for a band called Greenwheel (a really
cool bunch guys). We went on around 8:30pm and played to about 400 or so
people. The band got a great response to the set and the audience seemed
to love our first single "Coming of Age". We enjoyed being a part of this
show and we hope to play with "Green Wheel" again real soon. A big thanks
goes out to them, the club and everyone involved. The next shows we have
coming up will be in Florida at the end of July with a band called Virgos
(formerly known as "Virgos Merlot"). Hit the Tour
Dates link on our site for more info on these upcoming gigs. If you
make it out, please let us know by hitting the bulletin board on the site
as well.
Thanks

Acoustic at the Blue Monkey. This Monday
nights appearance and performance was very different and very last minute,
as opposed to the usual Monday night. We were invited down to play an all
acoustic set at one of the best little spots in Memphis, The Blue Monkey...The
Blue Monkey has been around for a few years and is located next to Ardent
studios. It is a really cool place with great food a great bar and that
does live music on Thursday, and the occasional special show like we just
did the other night. Our performance was completely unannounced which made
it a real laid back show for us and the Blue Monkey. It felt like we were
playing "Story Tellers" on VH-1. We had a good friend of ours,
Jason, play with us. He is also a bad-ass producer at Ardent Studios and
he came in on this show to play some percussion stuff for some of the songs.
This gave our songs such a different vibe. It worked out really good. And
the crowd really liked the addition. A huge thanks goes out to "Crow"
and The Blue Monkey for letting us do our acoustic thing. We must do that
again. Until the next show, see ya.

Little Rock. Our first show outside of
Memphis in several months and it took place at a small club called Vino's
in Little Rock, Arkansas last Saturday night. We got in around 7:00pm, unloaded,
set-up and then pigged out on some of the best new York style pizza around.
The Room was kinda small, but that didn't stop a big crowd from packing
it full. We went on at 10pm and had a really great time playing in front
of such a great crowd. We did have some technical problems on stage, but
we got through it and we felt that we were well received by the Little Rock
crowd. We would really like to thank Fletcher and Vino's (awesome pizza)
for being so good to us and having us come and play. We hope to see those
guys again real soon. Also our thanks goes out to Benign and DFL for inviting
us to play this show. We will be coming back to Little Rock again soon.

It has been a very productive week for
Breaking Point. The band has spent most of the week rehearsing at their
practice studio. As well, Breaking Point has also been laying down tracks
for their acoustic versions of "Coming of Age" and "27". They finished the
vocals on Thursday and on Friday began mixing. Next, the band will track
"Live for Today" acoustically. So, keep your ears open for more on the acoustic
front.
On Saturday June 16th, the band will be playing in Little Rock, Arkansas
at "Vino's," a spot well known for its great pizza, brews and music. Breaking
Point should be hitting the stage by 10pm. The next performance the band
has lined up will be in St. Louis, Missouri on Saturday, July 7th. They
will be appearing at Mississippi Nights with Green Wheel (formerly Soma
Holiday) and Just Add Water. Doors are at 8pm and Breaking Point will blast
off around 8:30pm. The group is very excited to get out and play in front
of new crowds and with new bands.
New touring dates will be released in the next few weeks, so stay posted
to breakingpointmusic.com for the "Breaking Point News"...

So after about seven weeks we had finished
tracking. We all couldn't believe what an incredible record we had and it
was to only get better. We decided to have a guy named Mike Shipley mix
the record. Mike mixes out of Ocean Way's Record One studio in Los Angeles.
Mike has an awesome history. He's worked with everyone from the Sex Pistols
to Faith Hill. He did the new Aerosmith record, AC/DC "Back in Black,"
Tom Petty, all the Def Leppard albums, Duran Duran and the list goes on
and on. So in a matter of days we heard back from Shipley who was slammed
at the time, but loved our music. So it was settled, we were heading to
Los Angeles.
The next thing we know, we're all out in L.A. with the man who's stuck by
our sides every step of the way, Matt Martone. We all stayed in this incredible
apartment that wasn't too far from the studio. Mike would put a good mix
on a song starting about 9:00 in the morning, then we would make our way
in around 1:00 or so. Mike has an incredible ear and was very easy to work
with. It was always a pleasure walking in to see what he had done with the
songs. He always nailed it just like we wanted. The studio had a great pinball
machine called the "Black Knight." I think just about all of us
got addicted!!! Other than watching our album come together we went out
quite a bit and met lots of celebrities.
In the studio right next to us was Dr. Dre, Eminem and Kid Rock. A few of
us ran into Tim Allen, Damon Wayans, Warren Beatty, hung out with Keifer
Sutherland, some members of Cypress Hill and the Deftones and we even hung
out and saw our buddies in Saliva play at the Key Club!! Everyone we met
was really cool.
So we have this song called "Live For Today." We had always imagined
an immaculate string arrangement on this song and had even joked with ourselves
about getting David Campbell to come in and do it. Never thought in a million
years it would happen, but Shipley made one phone call and we had the opportunity.
We couldn't believe it!!! This guy has done everything from Goo Goo Dolls
"Iris" to Fuel's "Hemmorage" to Train's new song. And
that's only modern rock stuff. This guys got a long list you wouldn't believe.
So we called him up and in a day or so he called back after we had given
him a copy of the song and he loved it!! Within a few days it was all set
up. We went to Sound Chamber studios in N. Hollywood where we met David
Campbell and the nine string players he had chosen. There were six violins
and three cellos. The whole experience was surreal. After experiencing something
like that we were all speechless, except Jody who was applauding and jumping
up and down like a small child when given a new toy!! For us to be a part
of something so beautiful and powerful was simply amazing!!
So now we have an incredible album completely mixed and ready for mastering.
The final process. It was so hard to believe that the whole process would
soon come to an end. We flew to New York to work with the legendary Ted
Jensen. Ted was incredible as well. Ted made this experience very easy.
He's got great ears and put the final touch on our masterpiece!!
We can't wait for the world to hear this album. It's a dream come true for
all of us and we couldn't be more proud. Every little event during the recording
of this album really made it all come together. We have all the faith in
the world in our label, management and the rest of our team that they'll
do everything possible to take us to the top. So now we've got an Album,
which will be out in August and we can't wait to meet all of you out there
when we're touring. So get prepared, here comes Breaking Point!!!!
|
| May 11 2001 |
We went into Ardent Studios in Memphis in early January
to record our debut album. Ardent has a rich history behind it, including
bands like Led Zeppelin, 3 Doors Down, Stevie Ray Vaughn, REM and the list
goes on and on (Quite an incredible place). We hung banners and lights all
over the room to create the right vibe. Just as we were doing so, we received
a phone call. You guys have to change your name. WHAT!!!!!!!!! You can only
imagine how bummed we were. But, we weren't going to let this stop us from
making an incredible album. So we went through hundreds of names before
agreeing on Breaking Point. That's just about where we were with the whole
situation!!!!
The first song we tracked was "Angry Side." This song pretty much
went down with great ease. We tracked the drums, bass and then did something
really cool with tracking guitars. This song has a real eerie vibe so we
turned down all the lights and lit candles everywhere. We tracked the guitars
at the same time to really capture the energy. It worked to say the least!!
Can't wait for everyone to hear it. The four previous months that we spent
writing is really proving to be the most valuable thing we could have done.
Working with Matt Martone and Paul Ebersold was really going well. So over
the next six weeks we were hard at work for about twelve hours a day. We've
got lots of video tape that is really hilarious. One of the best tapings
was Greg doing his imitation of Mr. Peeper's (Saturday Night Live.) We had
lots of great moments that we'll never forget. We really experimented with
a lot of different micing techniques during the process. We used lots of
different amps and guitars as well. Ernie Ball was nice enough to supply
us with plenty of strings for the session and Paul Reed Smith Guitars was
also very gracious in giving us a couple of guitars. Another company, Breedlove
Guitars gave an endorsement and so did Mesa Boogie. Spector Bass gave Greg
an endorsement that he was ecstatic about. Much thanks to everyone at these
companies for being so supportive, we know that it really helped with making
a great record.
Every song that went down really had something special about it. I have
to say that the best element of this album is that every song is very strong.
No one or two that stand out, every single one stands on its own. We even
had our good friend Josey from Saliva come in and sing with Brett on one
track. It was kind of cool the way it went down, because we didn't really
know if this song was going to make the record. It was the last one written
but it really came together and shines out on this record. The song is called
"Brother." Songs like "Brother" and "Live For Today"
really show that there's a little something for everyone. It's not just
crafted to one style. We always write how we feel, which really makes for
great diversity.
The Studio experience for us was great, thanks to Ardent, Paul, Matt and
everyone else that worked on this session. Now, on to the Mixing process
and the L.A experience.

All we can say is Portland, Maine ROCKS!!!!! We played at the State Theater
last night for one hell of a crowd. The State Theater is a great venue.
Lots of thanks to all who helped out last night, you guys rule. A band called
Twitchboy played with us and kicked butt. The best of luck to you guys.
Portland was definitely one of our best shows on this tour, performance
wise and the crowd wise. Sevendust of course came out and tore it up. Unfortunately
we have only one show left on this tour. We're now headed to Allentown,
PA. Today is a pretty long drive (about 7 hours.) We had to get up real
early this morning and head out. Allentown is going to be fun. Our drummer
is from around here, so he has some friends coming out.
Last night was our final show on this short tour with Sevendust. The club
in Allentown was packed. The people were hardcore and ready for some loud
rock and roll. What can I say the masses of people everywhere are fantastic.
Along with Sevendust, a band called Liquid Gang and a band called Isle of
Q played with us. Both the bands were great and were very cool to hang with.
Our dressing rooms were down under the club where it was pretty chilly as
opposed to in the club itself which was like a sauna. This being our last
show with the Sevendust boys we gave them two giant bottles of Jack Daniels
which put smiles on a few faces. The highlight of the night was when Clint
(from Sevendust) started beating up this enormous stuffed bear that was
in the dressing room. We laughed so hard at him we hurt. We'll miss them
much. Those guys are incredible musicians as well as awesome people. It's
great becoming friends with guys you've been big fans of for years
even
if one them does like to beat up huge stuffed bears. Best of luck to those
guys with their new album
looking forward to it. We'll see everyone on Dec.
16th in Memphis.

It's cold as hell in the beautiful state
of Rhode Island. Providence was our next stop and our last night with the
guys in finger eleven. We played at Lupo's Heartbreak Hotel. The club and
the crowd were both great!! A band called Powderburnt played with us. Best
of luck to those guys. We're starting to get used to being on the road.
No complaints here.
|
| Dec 3 2000 |
Today is the 3rd of December and we're
on the road to Providence, Rhode Island for a show tomorrow night. It's
good to be moving again after a brief three day stop because of the Cincinnati
show being canceled. The show last night in Pittsburgh was fantastic. The
room was great, people were awesome and the boys in Sevendust blew the doors
down as usual. A band called Diffuser also played on the bill and kicked
ass. finger eleven rocks, if you don't have their new album, "The Greyest
of Blue Skies", you need to get it! After the show the place turned into
a dance club where we along with finger eleven, Sevendust, and even some
of the guys from Orgy hung out drinking and dancing to some great 80's tunes.
It was cheesy but that was the best part about it, "up in here", made for
a great time. Orgy was in town because they were doing a show with Disturbed
the next night. Lajon from Sevendust asked Brett to come on stage and sing
"Angel's Son" with him at the next gig, so we'll see what happens! We hung
with Matt and Ken from a band from the area called Cinematic at the club
as well, best of luck to those guys. We want to thank the good folks at
the Metropol for all their help with everything...what a badass club! We're
all anxious to get back to Pittsburgh very soon. Until next time...may the
force be with us.

| Nov 30 2000 |
A moment we have waited our whole lives
for, struggling day to day to achieve a goal that once seemed only to allude
us, has arrived and in full force. We are proud to be out on our first tour
with two of the most incredible bands in rock, Sevendust and finger eleven.
Our first stop, Grand Rapids, Michigan, brought a great town, great fans
and a great show. Everything went well considering it was our first show
out with bands that we admire. The crowd response was great. Thanks to all
of our new fans for your support and to the Orbit Room for taking good care
of us. After the show, we spent some time with our new friends in finger
eleven on their bus getting crazy. We also hung out with the guys in Sevendust
for a little while and watched their performance. They put on a stellar
show. Sevendust just signed on with our management company, so it's nice
to have them in the family. We went to a great bar afterwards and met lots
of cool people. It's snowing pretty much everywhere we go up here, which
can make for some great snow fights. The drives are very long but we all
keep each other in good spirits about it. It was great to hear that our
song went to #1 on the play list at home in Memphis on WMFS. I also heard
that our Christmas show in Memphis on Dec.16th sold out in 48 hours. We
have to thank WMFS and all our great friends and fans for your support.
Our next stop, Cincinnati, unfortunately was canceled due to Sevendust's
performance on Jay Leno's late night show. We did get a chance to watch
their performance in a crazy bar in Pittsburgh, Pa. and it was awesome.
So we have had a few days off in Pittsburgh waiting to play at the Metropole.
Our sincere thanks goes out to Sevendust and Finger Eleven for having us
on their shows. We'll be writing in again after the Pittsburgh show. Peace.
